Rheumatology is the study of diseases that affect joints and the connective tissue surrounding them. These diseases often result in sore, swollen or warm joints, most commonly affecting the neck, shoulders, fingers, hips, knees and feet. Common rheumatic diseases include arthritis, osteoporosis and gout, and auto-immune diseases such as lupus and rheumatoid arthritis.

Management of sore and swollen joints
Our Rheumatology Team works with patients long-term to help manage their disease. Through personal attention and a comprehensive understanding of your needs, they develop multi-disciplinary, individualized treatment plans. This can include: medications to manage symptoms, a change in diet an exercise regimen, and rest and relaxation to reduce stress.
